As urbanCORE fulfills its mission to serve as the hub of UNC Charlotte’s engaged scholarship ecosystem, we are guided by an emerging framework that helps to distinguish the university’s community engagement efforts.
We distinguish engagement along a continuum of three designated categories: Connect, Cooperate and Collaborate. These are distinguished by their level of scholarship impact through research and student learning, level of tangible social impact as determined by community partners, and level of reciprocity with community partners in the design and execution of the work.
