Johnella Felders

Johnella is the communications coordinator at urbanCORE. Working in collaboration with the Charlotte Urban Institute, the Women + Girls Research Alliance, Faculty & Student Engagement, Community Impact, and Community Partnerships, she helps amplify research findings, promote initiatives, and foster community engagement. Prior to joining urbanCORE, Johnella gained experience in the nonprofit industry, serving as the marketing coordinator for one of the largest behavioral health nonprofits in Texas.

A Louisiana native, Johnella holds a bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communication from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and a master’s degree in Strategic Communication from Butler University. She is a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., and enjoys discovering new restaurants, documentaries, and music.
