The “Virtual Knowledge Base” is a web-based tool that inventories faculty-community partnerships, presents them publicly, and facilitates real-time “match-making” between community and academic partners. The knowledge base will be built initially by capturing the work of existing networks of engaged faculty. Over time, faculty who operate independently will be brought into the broader collective. The knowledge base will make university assets more accessible to the community by organizing them along a continuum of engagement (Connect-Cooperate-Collaborate) and aligning them to community-defined impact areas and indicators that lead to equitable neighborhoods.
